Admission Requirements
The university has set specific criteria that must be met for admission into its postgraduate programmes. Here is what you need to know:
Postgraduate Diploma Programme
- Qualifications Required: Applicants must have a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.), Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A) degree with at least a 3rd Class in relevant disciplines, or a Higher National Diploma (HND) in relevant disciplines with at least Lower Credit. Candidates with degrees in Medicine or Veterinary Medicine may also be considered for a Postgraduate Diploma in Biochemistry.
M.Tech./M.Sc Programme
- Academic Standards: Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree as specified above with at least a Second Class Lower Division. Additionally, holders of a Postgraduate Diploma in relevant disciplines must have achieved a minimum score of 60% to be eligible for the M.Tech./M.Sc. Programme.
M.Phil and Ph.D Programmes
- Master’s Performance: To qualify for M.Phil, applicants need a minimum of 50% in their Masters Degrees, while Ph.D candidates require at least 60%. Some Ph.D applicants may start with an M.Phil/Ph.D if deemed necessary by the university.
Duration of the Programmes
The duration varies significantly depending on the nature of the programme and whether you choose to study full-time or part-time.
- Full-Time Duration: Ranges from a minimum of two semesters for a Postgraduate Diploma to six semesters for a PhD.

- Form Fee: N20,000 (excluding bank charges).
- Payment Method: Payments should be made using INTERSWITCH ENABLED DEBIT Cards (ATM Cards).
- Application Portal: Visit LAUTECH’s application website to fill out the application form.
- Submission of Documents: After completing the online application, print out the application form and attach certified photocopies of your certificates/diplomas including ‘O’ Level and NYSC Certificates, transcripts, and other relevant documents. These should be sent to The Secretary, Postgraduate School, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso within six weeks from the date of publication.
