Adamu Alhaji Ibrahim, the husband of the 21-year-old woman, Fatima Alhaji Bukar, who was murdered in Maiduguri has been released by the Borno State Police Command

Bukar was released on Tuesday afternoon, October 24, after police arrested a 23-year-old suspect, Abatcha Bukar, who confessed to the killing.

Speaking to journalists at his family’s residence, the banker said ‘the truth has prevailed’, without giving any further details.

 “What happened was a test of my faith and it could happen to anyone,” he said.

“I however have forgiven everyone, including those who tried to malign and tarnish my image. I have forgiven everyone
,’ he added.

Adamu, who was not allowed to attend his wife’s funeral, later paid a poignant visit to her grave.
