Who is Primeboy and why was he declared wanted by Lagos State Police in connection with Mohbad’s death?
The Lagos State’s Police Command has declared wanted Owodunni Ibrahim, aka Primeboy, in the ongoing investigations to unveil the real cause of death of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad.
According to the statement by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, one million naira would be awarded to anybody with crucial information leading to the arrest of Primeboy.
For those who do not know Primeboy: His real name is Owodunni Ibrahim, he is from Ogun State, and he grew up in the same Lagos’ neighborhood where Mohbad lived into his adulthood—Ikorodu.
According to trending videos on social media, the two were close childhood friends.
Shortly after Mohbad died (at age 27) on Tuesday, 12 Sept., Primeboy made a mourning video, sitting alone on the ground with an alcohol bottle in his hand.
However, in another video, he spoke about the final moments of Mohbad, and on the allegation that he hit the singer with ‘black power’ in a fight on the Sunday before his death.
He denied the allegation with an explantation of how he was with Mohbad that Sunday, but they never fought. See the video below:
Why is Primeboy declared wanted?
Primeboy was invited for questioning by the police, but he failed to honour the invitation; hence, he was declared wanted on Wednesday, 4 Oct. 2023.
