The American University of Nigeria (AUN) has announced the appointment of Dr. DeWayne Frazier as its new President/Vice-Chancellor. With over 25 years of experience in higher education and 15 years in senior administration, Dr. Frazier brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role at AUN.
Dr. Frazier’s Background:
Dr. DeWayne Frazier is currently the University Provost at Iowa Wesleyan University in the United States. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Louisville and an undergraduate degree from Campbellsville University, where he graduated with honors. Dr. Frazier also completed the prestigious Patterson School for Diplomacy and International Commerce program at the University of Kentucky and studied abroad at Imperial College of England during his junior year abroad.
Senator Ben Obi, the chairman of the AUN Governing Council, announced Dr. Frazier’s appointment on Monday. He emphasized that the Board and Council chose Dr. Frazier for his extensive experience in business and management at higher academic institutions, as well as his energy and youthfulness. Senator Obi also expressed gratitude to AUN’s Founder, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, GCON, for his support and encouragement during the appointment process.
