After months of talking and unofficial confirmations from both, the board and the manager, it is finally sealed, official, and announced. Xavi has signed a new contract with Barcelona until 2025.

Joan Laporta and co. have publicly spoken about how happy they are with Xavi’s tenure so far as the manager of the club, and that they wanted him to continue beyond his current deal.

However, Xavi had put off that question last season, saying that he will only sign an extension once Barcelona lifted La Liga.

With him at the helm, Barcelona ended their La Liga drought of three seasons last season as they became champions. Further, he also led them to the Spanish Super Cup trophy with a brilliant 3-1 win against Real Madrid in the finals.

Xavi’s next goal would be taking the club far enough in the Champions League after back-to-back disappointments in the competition, getting relegated to the Europa League.
